Racing at Tramore originally took place on the beach in 1785, but due to the stormy seas disrupting racing it was moved to its current location at Graun Hill in 1911, where racing still takes place today.
A tough right-handed course Tramore undulating track is one-mile in length and has a very stiff uphill finish.
The County Waterford course holds several meetings throughout the year, with its highlight coming in August, where a four-day festival takes place. Another star attraction is Tramore's two-day meeting on New Year's and New Year's Day which attract bumper crowds.
One fact about Tramore is that it was to hold the first race of the new Millennium, where a record crowd of 11,000 turned up.
